Arc-Addington Fund

The Arc-Addington Fund addresses rural housing needs for the rural community across Wales. It runs a Strategic Rural Housing Scheme for those leaving a non-viable rural business, to allow people to remain living in their community and exit their business with dignity.

Brecon Advice Centre

The Centre offers advice on financial matters (including debt, employment, benefits, insurance and consumer issues), housing, family matters and neighbour disputes. It is an open door, non-appointment service and not limited to area.

Canolfan Cynghori Bro Ddyfi Advice Centre

We are an independent advice centre, a member of Advice UK. We offer free and confidential advice to anyone, including generalist advice, specialist money advice (including help with over-indebtedness, financial literacy, budgeting), and specialist welfare benefits advice (including help with sickness/disability and out of work benefits, Housing and Council Tax Benefit, Tax credits.) The POWer project is aimed at those suffering fuel poverty, especially people with young families and vulnerable people. The Monergy project targets those needing help with energy efficiency and budgeting.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is an independent body and registered charity offering free, confidential, independent and impartial advice on a wide range of issues.

The service aims to: Provide the advice people need for the problems they face and improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

The generalist service covers family and personal issues, housing, immigration, health, tax, personal injury, transport and communications, education and human rights. Help with Casework services cover employment and consumer advice. Specialist services cover welfare benefits and debt. Financial Capability services provide one-to-one sessions with individuals and groups.

Cruse Bereavement Care Cymru

Cruse Bereavement Care Cymru provides free, confidential support and counselling to anyone who has experienced the death of someone close, whether the death has occurred a few days or many years before. Without help, bereavement can lead to isolation, depression and physical illness. As well as one-to-one help for both adults and children, Cruse Cymru offer support groups and provide training in bereavement awareness for staff who work with bereaved people. Cruse Cymru's trained volunteers can help bereaved people to cope with what has happened and move on.

Farm Crisis Network (FCN)

A UK network of volunteers who understand farming, available to come alongside farming people and families in difficulties of any kind and prepared to relate to all aspects of the situation. We lend a listening ear, offer support and introduce links with sources of relevant professional or practical help and advice where needed.

We work with farmers, farm workers, and those involved in agriculture and horticulture, across the whole of Wales, with on-farm contact where possible or via telephone support and supported links with other organisations or Church contacts.

Mind Cymru

The MindinfoLine offers callers confidential help on a range of mental health issues together with information about other services available locally. Mind also provide a specialised legal service to the public, lawyers and mental health workers.

Twenty Local Mind Associations offer a range of services included supported housing, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, counselling, befriending, advocacy, employment and training schemes, and other services. They can be contacted through MindinfoLine. Our Local Mind Support Team works to support local Mind associations.

Mid-Powys Mind

Covers the area of Radnorshire/North Brecknock. The Resource Centre is based in Llandrindod Wells and there are three outreach support groups in Builth Wells, Rhayader and Knighton, providing day services to clients, their carers and families.

RABI (The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution)

RABI helps to provide for the welfare and well being of the farming community, through practical support provided by a qualified welfare team; continuous care of a financial and material nature; financial assistance to provide for essential household equipment and adaptations; residential homes with sheltered housing units attached; and support and fundraising activities from over 50 voluntary committees.

Radnorshire Healthy Friendships

We provide a confidential befriending scheme for adults who may be enduring mental health distress. Our scheme operates in Radnorshire and Montgomeryshire with a dedicated focus on older people and rural areas. Our 'one to one' befriending service helps individuals by enhancing their lives and encouraging them to fulfil their own personal objectives This may be through increasing social inclusion, for example through experiencing new hobbies, and members may go on to spending time with other members on one of our group leisure outings and events. Befriending referrals and Volunteering enquiries are always welcome.

Rekindle-Hafal

The Rekindle Project

The Rekindle Project works with young adults (18-35) who have a formal diagnosis of severe and enduring mental health problems. We provide a one-to-one rural outreach service and centre-based activities. The service covers Montgomeryshire.

Samaritans
